Social Responsibilites of Ed Hardy

Have you ever wondered what or how the Ed Hardy clothing brand contributes to the society? Although I was not able to find many of the social responsibilities related to the brand, I did come across an article talking about Christian Audigier releasing an OnmiPeace collection, in which 25% of the profits will be donated to charities that help support peace, education, human rights, and the end of extreme poverty in Africa by 2025. Audigier strategically integrated the designs of Ed Hardy to carry the significant OmniPeace vision that "Fashion Saves Lives". Celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Eva Longoria, and David Beckham have pledged and wear their support for OmniPeace and the movement.

More About Ed Hardy

The Ed Hardy clothing brand became very popular because it was worn by many celebrities including Britney Spears, Madonna, and Sylvester Stallone...some of the most photographed celebrities at the time.

The brand includes clothing such as active wear, denim, and t-shirts for men, women, and children.

Eventually, Christian Audiger added Ed Hardy accessories including belts, hats, shoes, sunglasses, and scarves.

Behind the Brand: Ed Hardy

Before Ed Hardy became household name, the designs were simply tattoo art created by the infamous tattoo artist, Don Ed Hardy. In 2004, a man by the name of Christian Audigier wanted to created a new clothing line, and felt that it would be appropriate to name the line Ed Hardy because it was based on Hardy's designs; Audigier was granted the exclusive rights to the designs of Ed Hardy and thus created the brand name that we all know and love today. Due to the branding efforts by Christian Audigier and his company, Ed Hardy is now one of the most famous brands in clothing history.
